Some people acquire outward symbols of success, but when they go to open their treasure chest they will find it empty. Somehow along the way towards their purpose they lost their ability to enjoy life. Not enjoying your life and going through the motions is emptiness.
They seek joy in the wrong places like a whirl of parties, always finding disappointment. The truth in joy is found in creative function. In creative goal-striving. If you win fake success, you will be penalized with empty joy.
Life is worthwhile when you have worthwhile goals. Emptiness is a symptom that you are not living creatively. Choose an important goal and use your efforts to work for it. Life has no purpose for those who have no goal. The person who is actively engaged in a struggle or strives towards an important goal does not come up with pessimistic philosophies about the futility of life.
Emptiness can become an excuse for noncreative living. If life is a treadmill to work 8 hours to sleep 8 hours to go back to work, there is no reason to get excited. The reasons will vanish as soon as you get off the treadmill and select a worthy goal to strive for.
If your self-image is low you may feel that you are undeserving of your success. You are unable to take credit for your success and you feel like a thief. Real success never hurt anyone. It is healthy to strive for goals that are important to us, because they serve as a way forward to self-actualization.
Striving towards real success, your success, through creative accomplishment brings deep inner satisfaction. Striving to please someone else brings on fake satisfaction.
